According to a 2004 report by the International Labor Organization, 26 million of the 35.7 million people estimated by the United Nations Program for HIV/AIDS to be HIV-positive were workers. Futures Group responds to the impact HIV and AIDS on the workplace by assisting in the development of policies and strategies to reduce stigma and discrimination in the workplace against people living with HIV. For example, we completed an assessment in Malawi that outlined the potential supply and demand for future workers. As part of the project, Futures Group created the Workplace Policy Builder, a software program designed to help companies create HIV/AIDS policies for their employees.
